We were here for an evening event but made the most of it by arriving early at check in time. I'd requested a particular style of room when booking and true to their word, the staff had assigned us what we'd asked for in the main building. Proper country house hotel vibes, super comfy, peaceful, and lovely greenery outside. Well-appointed room although the bathroom was tired and a couple of things needed repair or replacement. Wifi in the room was good, so it was easy to finish off some Friday afternoon work bits without worry. Really friendly welcome at the pool and spa and I had a lovely couple of hours swimming and steaming with the place pretty much to myself. Sadly I can't report on the breakfast as I'd had much too good a time the night before. Other people seemed to be enjoying it though and the timbered dining room was lovely. I'm so glad we decided to stay, rather than just coming for the event as we'd done the year before. The staff were also really helpful when I realised I'd left something behind in our room.

The Olde Worlde feel with a modern twist. Stunning. From the moment we arrived to check out, I cannot complain about anything. We received a lovely welcome, our room was ready, which was perfect. Immaculately clean, fresh soft towels, it was wonderful. We stayed for one of the party nights, ours was Diva night which included a meal. The food was absolutely knock out. 5*, I could rave for another 500 words but would not come close to explain how good the food was. The hotel owner came to chat, she was lovely, a very elegant and classy lady who made everyone feel welcome. Breakfast the next morning was fabulous, a served carvery style with plenty of superb quality produce. Lots of pastry and cereals and juices on offer too. All in all and fabulous stay, we will definitely be back for another theme evening and stay over.

room nice and spacious, large bed very comfortable ,clean bathroom. breakfast ,full english for my husband and a veggie version for me, and as I don't eat eggs or veggie sausages extra hash browns and field mushrooms, plenty of food, didn't need anything else. waitresses very friendly and helpful. Dinner , due to having an accident in which my face was bruised and grazed, we had our evening meals in our room as I didn't want to be seen ,although it was a pity as the day after my fall was my birthday and had been looking forward to a nice meal. Instead I ended up with a halloumi burger bun with salad and well done chips, but had a nice fresh fruit salad and sorbet for dessert.

I stayed a couple of months ago on a fleeting last minute visit to break up a long journey, and came back this time with my wife and dog with a bit more time on our hands to fully enjoy the experience. We had lovely food and drinks in the bar area, and the double aspect room looked out over the beautiful golf course and had a lovely bed that gave us our best sleep away from home in along time. I walked our dog in the evening around the side of the golf course to find lovely fields where she could run and have fun safely. All the staff we met were happy, welcoming and very friendly.

The room was amazing (with a lovely view) and had what I needed - it was lovely to get a teapot! The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The bar food was good and served quickly - really appreciated as I got to dinner quite late. The electric car charger was also easy to use and great to be able to leave with a full battery. I used the swimming pool and hot tub which was an added bonus, especially with it being so quiet.
